Lusaka Children's Village

Due to the growing number of street children and orphans found living in Child Headed Households, we have developed a Children's Village for Orphans in Zambia. The current site for the Children's Village is a small farm that we are leasing just outside the capital city of Lusaka. Fifteen children have found a home with us and we have purchased 55 acres of land to begin building the new Children's Village, which will house up to 250 children and provide vocational and other training to local villagers.

The purpose of this project is to provide a safe home for orphaned children, where they have an opportunity to attend school, receive grief counseling, vocational training and medical care in a family setting.

In addition, we work with the surrounding villages and communities to provide vocational training and income generating projects which will allow them to better care for the orphans living their midst. Projects currently in operation include a tailoring school, family gardens, micro-credit loans, small business training, brick making and carpentry.
