Children's Feeding Programs

Thousands of orphaned and vulnerable children go hungry every day in Africa. Local communities struggle to provide for the growing number of orphans living in their midst. As a result, many children are forced to scavenge for food in trashcans and alleys, beg, or engage in prostitution.

Mothers Without Borders supports local feeding programs in Zambia and Zimbabwe designed to provide at least one meal a day to these children. $25 will feed a child for a month. Please help.

In Zimbabwe, 4 local women, led by Lettie Mhiza and supported by Mothers Without Borders, provide one meal a day for over 200 children.

Children gather at Lettie's house each day, Board Member Merrilee Boyack shares a meal with the children

On Saturdays, they gather the children for activities and lessons in health, hygiene, AIDS awareness, self-defense, first aid, prayer and singing.

These courageous women fill a critical role in the lives of more than 200 children living in Child Headed Households in their community. They rally the support of local government leaders, teachers, doctors, police, shop keepers and social workers to meet the needs of this growing number of children. They nurture and care for these children, as if they were their own.
